Subject: Update on Campus Climate Survey Project
Last year, the President and Provost announced plans to conduct two campus climate surveys as part of the University’s ongoing efforts to help promote inclusion. The first survey, administered in April, focused on sexual misconduct. The second survey will focus on diversity, inclusion, and the climate for underrepresented groups, and is expected to be administered in 2016.
A steering committee including faculty members, students and staff members and chaired by Cathy Cohen, David and Mary Winton Green Professor of Political Science, will guide the development and implementation of the 2016 Climate Survey with the help of information gathered through campus feedback and public forums.
Members of the University community will be able to provide their feedback through various channels, including by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org at any time. There will also be presentations and discussions for students, staff and faculty in a variety of venues. Finally, the steering committee will host three Climate Survey Forums in the Winter Quarter where individuals can provide input directly to members of the Steering Committee. The dates for these forums are as follows:
Thursday, January 7th from 12-1:30 pm in the Regenstein Library
Tuesday, January 12th from 4:30-6 pm in the SSA Lobby
Thursday, January 14th from 10-11:30 am in the Cloister Club in Ida Noyes
As President Zimmer and Provost Isaacs recently affirmed in their campus message on diversity and inclusion, these are the latest steps in what must be an ongoing effort. We will share further updates on the Climate Survey Project website in the months to come.
Thank you for your engagement in this effort and for your continuing dedication to these issues.
