Working Group on the Retiree Medical Plan
The Working Group, which includes faculty, other academic appointee and staff representatives, has been asked to advise on coverage options that are being considered for Medicare-eligible retirees under the plan. That coverage is currently provided under the Anthem Medicare Preferred PPO plan.
The group has been asked to consider various options for the plan including a change in insurance carrier from Anthem and the type of plan provided. It will review retirees’ experience with Anthem, including service, network reach and other features. It will also consider the benefits and limitations of Medicare
Advantage plans, which we have now, Medicare plus Medigap plans, which were provided prior to January 2019, and the possibility of offering both plan options.
