Communications Specialist
 
As a Communications Specialist with the Office of the Provost and University Communications, Benjamin Ransom supports a variety of announcements, programs, and other communications and projects across both offices. Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, Benjamin served in communications and production assistant roles with the University of Chicago Presents and the Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society.
 
Benjamin earned his PhD from the University of Chicago in French and Francophone Studies. While in his graduate program he taught French language and literature, served on a mentorship advisory board, edited an academic journal, and ran an interdisciplinary workshop on France and the Francophone world. He previously interned in communications and marketing for the Château de Fontainebleau in France.
 
Benjamin earned his bachelor’s degree in French and Classical Studies from the University of Washington. Outside work, Benjamin enjoys ink drawing, linocut printmaking, and hosting French conversation groups.
