The University of Chicago's emeriti faculty have raised the bar for research and teaching throughout their distinguished academic careers. There are diverse ways emeriti faculty engage in the University community after retirement—whether through continuing scholarship and teaching, providing input, or participating in campus events and activities, emeriti are an important part of the University of Chicago.
The Office of the Provost supports the UChicago emeriti community through communications, the development of new resources, and liaising with other University offices whose policies and processes impact retired faculty.
The Emeriti Faculty Steering Committee meets quarterly to review and address the needs of the UChicago emeriti community and develop ideas for new emeriti resources.
The working group was formed to review and provide input on options for the Retiree Medical Plan and to advise on changes.
The Emeriti Faculty web portal provides the emeriti community access to resources, news, and opportunities to engage with colleagues and campus. New content is added frequently, including downloadable recordings of the popular Robert and Anne Gomer Lecture Series for emeriti.
