Subject: Closure of University Libraries
Date: March 18, 2020

The University continues to take necessary steps in response to coronavirus disease (COVID-19), to prioritize the health and safety of our community. Due to the rapidly changing situation and our desire to help stop the spread of this virus, we will close the University libraries at the end of Winter Quarter. Specifically:

  • The Regenstein Library will be open today and Thursday until 6:00 p.m. and will close Friday, March 20 at 5:00 p.m. for two weeks.
  • Crerar, Eckhart, Mansueto, SSA and the All Night study are now closed.
  • The D’Angelo Law Library will close at 5:00 p.m. today
  • Online services for academics, students, and staff will continue to be available.

We understand the critical role the libraries play in teaching and learning at the University, and we regret the need to close these important facilities. However, it is critical to protecting the staff and librarians, along with University community members who access these buildings, that the libraries close during this time.
