Subject: Guide for Remote and Hybrid Instruction
Date: September 9, 2020
As we prepare for the Autumn Quarter, we are pleased to share a new guide with information to assist you in designing and teaching effectively in this new environment.
The University is currently planning for Autumn Quarter instruction to occur both in-person and remotely, and we understand you are engaged in designing or redesigning your courses, syllabi, and other materials for teaching. The Instructor Guide for Remote and Hybrid Instruction provides new guidance for what to include on your syllabus, in particular regarding the UChicago Health Pact and recording policies, as well as suggestions and links to additional resources on teaching formats and modalities, digital resources, and troubleshooting.
The guide was developed by the Education Planning Group, composed of faculty and staff from the Schools, Divisions, and the College, the Chicago Center for Teaching, and Information Technology Services, and supplements and summarizes the extensive resources that will continue to be available at teachingremotely.uchicago.edu. Should you have any questions about the content, please contact Kara Kuligowski at kuligowski@uchicago.edu.
It has been inspiring to see your dedication to your students during this challenging time, and we thank you for your creativity and commitment as we continue developing innovative ways to provide students with the distinctive education that is a hallmark of our institution.
