I am pleased to announce the availability of three funding streams for collaborative projects between faculty and other academic appointees at the University of Chicago and colleagues at international institutions. These opportunities all aim to provide flexible funding for international partnerships in many locations around the world and represent a critical lever in our broader global engagement efforts. Our overseas campuses and centers can often help support your work, especially now that COVID-19 travel restrictions have been lifted in most areas of the world.
Provides one-year grants of up to $30,000 USD for collaborative projects with partners in mainland China, Hong Kong and East Asia, India and South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, or sub-Saharan Africa.

Eligibility: All faculty and other academic appointees

Application deadline: March 3, 2023
Provides up to $50,000 USD for three-year projects, up to $30,000 for two-year projects, and up to $10,000 for single-year projects with a strong collaborative element in Europe, Africa, or the Middle East. Individual research grants of up to $5,000 are also available.

Provides one-year grants of up to $15,000 USD for academic programming that advances the University’s engagement with sub-Saharan Africa.
