Kimberly Castillo is the Associate Director of Programming in the Office of the Provost at the University of Chicago. She supports the development and execution of programs and strategic initiatives that advance the University’s priorities in diversity, inclusion, and rigorous inquiry. In this role, she partners with colleagues across the institution to drive cross-campus initiatives and support key priorities within the assistant provost and vice provost’s portfolio.
Before joining the University of Chicago, Kimberly held progressive leadership roles at the University of Iowa beginning in 2020, with a focus on student engagement and federally funded TRIO programs. She brings experience in leading large-scale programming, managing complex and multi-site initiatives, advancing strategic planning, assessment, and program evaluation, and teaching as an adjunct instructor in support of a first-generation student initiative. Her work centered on expanding access, strengthening retention, and promoting student success.
She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, Leadership, and Cultural Competency and a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education, both from the University of Iowa, and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
