Special Advisor to the Vice Provost

As special advisor to the vice provost, Ranjan Daniels collaborates with academic units and faculty to support the growth and resource management of master’s programs. He also serves as senior associate dean, student recruitment and global outreach at the Harris School of Public Policy, where he oversees admissions, marketing, financial aid, executive education, and international partnerships.

Ranjan has helped shape the admissions process at Harris, fostering its growth while advancing efforts to create a more diverse student body, welcoming students from a wide range of backgrounds, including 40 different countries. Before joining UChicago, Ranjan spent 20 years leading innovation and developing new products at organizations including Kaplan, Berkshire Hathaway, the Tribune Company, and the City of Chicago.

He holds an MBA from Northwestern University, an AM in public policy studies from UChicago, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Emory University. Ranjan serves on the Board of Trustees at Fourth Presbyterian Church, and enjoys running, grilling, and coaching baseball in his free time.
