In light of the recent request by Graduate Students United - United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (GSU-UE) that its members pledge their willingness to participate in a possible strike, the University has updated its online graduate student unionization FAQ to include related information. I realize the FAQ may not answer all your questions, but we will update it regularly whenever new information is available.

We continue making substantial progress bargaining with GSU-UE and appreciate the union’s ongoing engagement. Although we have compiled this FAQ to provide information about what would happen with a strike, we strongly believe that a strike can be avoided through our ongoing good-faith negotiations.

We will continue to provide updates on the progress of negotiations.
