Childcare
To help faculty and other scholars balance their family and work commitments, the University provides access to high-quality childcare services and resources.
 
Dependent Care Professional Travel Grant Program
The University offers a grant to faculty members to help with incremental, out-of-pocket expenses incurred associated with caring for a dependent, such as children or parents, while the faculty member is attending professional conferences, seminars, meetings, or workshops. 
 
Dependent Care Support Grant Program - Winter & Spring Quarter 2022
The University assists instructors of record with costs related to caring for dependents due to the coronavirus pandemic.
 
Dual Careers
The University provides individually tailored resources to support new and prospective faculty and their partners with their transition to Chicago.
 
Emeriti Faculty
The Office of the Provost, in collaboration with an Emeriti Faculty Steering Committee, works to develop new resources and engagement opportunities for current and future emeriti, and to address issues impacting the emeriti community.
 
Stopping the Clock
The Office of the Provost provides an opportunity for all tenure-track faculty members to stop the tenure review process for a year when they become parents through childbirth or adoption. This policy applies to both women and men and includes same-sex, registered domestic, or civil union partners.
