The Office of the Provost leads initiatives designed to support and enhance the academic programs at the University. We do this by improving support systems, conducting financial and other analysis, and other services. We are often aided in this work by faculty who advise on certain matters and provide valuable input.
University Budget
Through the Budget Office, the Office of the Provost manages, administers, and implements the University’s annual operating, long-term planning and capital budgets. The Budget Office also provides strategic and operational leadership in financial planning and analysis and works collaboratively with units across campus on their budgets.
Office of Institutional Analysis
The Office of Institutional Analysis collects, manages, reports, and analyzes data to support strategic decision making at UChicago.
Space and Capital Planning
Since 2000, the University has added approximately one million square feet of academic space to campus. The Office of the Provost maintains a space inventory and provides support for new and renovated facilities.
